Morrissey-inspired pop art, Derek Erdman's piece entitle "FORTUNATE TEENS PARTY WITH MORRISSEY, 1994"

"There is a seldom told story that Morrissey's tour bus broke down in small town Ohio in the autumn of 1994. A full day was necessary for the repairs to be completed and Morrissey and his band delighted local teenaged fans by stopping by a house party to drink beer and smoke marijuana. 'It was the time of my life,' remarks Tamara Marshall, who was hosting the party. 'My parents were out of town and I was told not to have a party, but once Morrissey showed up I knew I wasn't going to be a secret for long.' When asked what she remembered most about Morrissey's visit, Tamara answered, 'He didn't like Rolling Rock beer'."

Kitchen sink realism (or kitchen sink drama) is a term coined to describe a British cultural movement which developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s in theatre, art, novels, film and television plays, whose 'heroes' usually could be described as angry young men. It used a style of social realism which often depicted the domestic situations of working class Britons living in rented accommodation and spending their off-hours in grimy pubs to explore social issues and political controversies.

...Unlike Socialist realism, social realism is not an official art produced by, or under the supervision of the government. The leading characters are often 'anti-heroes' rather than part of a class to be admired, as in socialist realism, who are dissatisfied with their lives and the world, rather than idealised workers who are part of a socialist utopia (supposedly) in the process of creation. As such, social realism allows more space for the subjectivity of the author. Partly, social realism developed as a reaction against Romanticism, which promoted lofty concepts such as the "ineffable" beauty and truth of art and music, and even turned them into spiritual ideals. As such, social realism focused on the "ugly realities of contemporary life and sympathized with working-class people, particularly the poor."

Въпреки че е най-използван, всички сме наясно, че SA Dictionary е и най-куцият възможен речник. Не случайно в езиковите гимназии забраняват да се ползват речници и граматики (най-вече граматики) писани от българи. Това беше в ерата B.G. (Before Google). Сега вече можем да тайпнем define: ... и готово. От друга страна, Urban Dictionary успя да реши всичките ни лингвистични проблеми на съвсем ново ниво. Откакто го има, няма текст на хип-хоп песен, който да остане неразгадан и това го поставя on top в личната ми класация.

Ще си позволя, обаче, да препоръчам още две алтернативи.

Definr е мега бърз, suggest-as-you-type речник, който можеш лесно да си туриш у Firefox search box-а. Доста е акуратен според моя опит и съдържа специализирани термини. Е, бързината, с която излизат думите се компенсира от времето, което ти е нужно да си преведеш дефиницията, и все пак..

Visuwords обаче е изрудщината. Какво значи определена дума се разбира чрез връзки с други думи, а като задържиш мишката върху някоя от тях, освен че можеш да местиш и разтягаш цялата диаграма във всички посоки, се показва и значението. Прилича на лесбийските съзвездия от L Word. Поиграйте си малко.

Минавам тънко и за именния си ден черпя с този тематичен клип базиран на японския фолклор и анимация в стила Укийо-е - гравюри върху дърво от XVIII век, смятай. Двамата от Hifana го играят рибари, които се преборват с лошото време чрез търнтейбълите и накрая си правят малко частно парти в зурлата на един, силно казано, шаран.
